What is your message?
I wish to promote dairy and egg free food as a realistic alternative to more conventional food, to do this I will design food packaging for a fictional company.
What is your concept / unique selling point?
I need to make people aware of the benefits of these foods. There are many health benefits, such as being low in fat, they are produced more humanely and are better for the environment.
How will you present / deliver your message and to whom?
The design will have to be 2 colour, as most specialist food companies are small and have little money. I will also have to consider the environmental aspects (whilst still bearing cost in mind) of the packaging, such as whether it’s possible to use recycled/recyclable material. I will also need to consider using biodegradable inks.
The target audience would be people who can afford to, and would be willing to, spend a little bit extra for food that has been naturally and ethically produced. I would see it sitting along side organic food in a supermarket.
What are you trying to achieve? What response or emotion?
I wish to make well-designed packaging that’s cheaply and ethically produced, that would hold its own in a supermarket, when surrounded by large brands.
